Born in 1964, Mr. Schmidt studied at the New York Studio School and received a B.F.A. in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1986 and an M.F.A. in Painting from Yale University School of Art in 1989. He creates paintings focusing on Christian prayer and praise. His work has mainly been shown in New York and Connecticut and is in churches, public and private collections. Since 1990, Schmidt has been Senior Financial Assistant in the Yale University School of Art. With his wife, Beth, he lives in Hamden CT; they have two children, Kevin and Anna.
